Sixty-one teams comprising one supervisor, three interviewers and one driver where involved in the field work. The field personnel were taken through different training programmes before they began the field enumeration.

The training workshop for field personnel was conducted from 27th January to 9th February, 2003. There were manuals for supervisors and interviewers , which involve comprehensive and systematic explanation on: the structure and content of the survey questionnaire; basic concept and definition to be applied in the execution of the CWIQ II survey data collection exercise; interactive discussions; simulated field trials;and how to shade a bubble or print numbers in
the questionnaire.

The questionnaires were devoloped in english. Interviews were conducted in both English and local languages.

The CWIQ II Survey adopted a household -based questionnaire consisting of five double sided sheets with pre-coded multiple choice reponse questions. The questionnaire was designed in English. The questions where basedon previous questionnaire, reviewed by stake holders. Questionaire included educational status , health status and employment status of household members as well as household asset, household ammenities and poverty predictors. It also included violence, crime and safety of the community.

Out of 113 potential Supervisors who were trained for the CWIQ II survey pre-test (in July-August, 2002), 61 were selected for
the main data collection exercise. Regional Statisticians were also on the ground to ensure good quality data is collected.
